    What the MCP server does

    The Brandop AI MCP server connects one workspace to an MCP client. MCP is the Model Context Protocol.

    From the chat, the client reads site health scores, AI visibility results, pages, schema, tasks, traffic and Content Studio articles. It also starts scans, generates schema, manages questions, question tags and competitors, and creates tasks and articles.

    AI visibility is the share of AI answers to your tracked questions that name your brand or cite your site. Each scan measures it and compares it with the previous scan.

    Server URL

    Use this URL in every client. Sign-in uses OAuth. When you allow access, you choose one workspace.

    https://brandop.ai/api/mcp

    Connect a client

    Brandop AI tests these clients. Other clients that follow the MCP standard can also work. We do not test them.

    Claude

    1. Open Customize, then Connectors.

    2. Select Add, then Add custom connector.

    3. Enter a name and paste the MCP server URL. Complete the steps and select Add.

    4. Select Connect. Sign in to Brandop AI and choose a workspace.

    On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector in Organization settings, then Connectors. Members then select Connect.

    ChatGPT

    1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT.

    2. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.

    3. Enter a name and paste the MCP server URL. Set the authentication to OAuth.

    4. Read the risk warning. Select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.

    5. Sign in to Brandop AI and choose a workspace.

    Your ChatGPT account and workspace policies control custom MCP servers. ChatGPT asks you to confirm each action that makes a change.

    Cursor

    1. Add this server to .cursor/mcp.json in your project. For all projects, use ~/.cursor/mcp.json.

      .cursor/mcp.json
      {
        "mcpServers": {
          "brandop": {
            "url": "https://brandop.ai/api/mcp"
          }
        }
      }
    2. When Cursor asks you to sign in, sign in to Brandop AI and choose a workspace.

    VS Code

    1. Add this server to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace folder.

      .vscode/mcp.json
      {
        "servers": {
          "brandop": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://brandop.ai/api/mcp"
          }
        }
      }
    2. Start the server. When VS Code asks you to sign in, sign in to Brandop AI and choose a workspace.

    3. Use the Brandop AI tools in GitHub Copilot Chat.

    Antigravity

    1. In Antigravity, open Customizations from the left menu. At the top right, select Installed.

    2. In the MCP Servers section, select Copy Config File Path to copy the path of the configuration file. Open the file and add this server.

      mcp_config.json
      {
        "mcpServers": {
          "brandop": {
            "serverUrl": "https://brandop.ai/api/mcp"
          }
        }
      }
    3. Save the file. In the MCP Servers list, select Authenticate next to the Brandop AI server.

    4. Sign in to Brandop AI in your browser and choose a workspace. Copy the code that appears, paste it into Antigravity and select Submit.

    Permissions and approvals

    • The client acts with the role of the member who made the connection. The tool list shows the roles for each tool.
    • Actions that use quota or change the live site first show a preview with the cost. They run only after you approve them in the chat.
    • In your MCP client, you can set each tool to always allow, ask first or block.
    • Each connection uses one workspace. To use another workspace, connect again and choose it.
    • Your connections are in Settings, then MCP connections. Owners and admins can disconnect any connection. Members can disconnect their own connections.

    Limits

    • MCP access is a plan feature. The plan of the workspace decides if you can connect.
    • MCP requests use the per-minute request limit of the workspace API. MCP has its own counter.
    • A tool result has at most 20,000 characters. Long lists come in pages. Use the cursor in the result to get the next page.
    • Tools work only while the workspace has access. They stop when the plan expires or the payment grace period ends.
